주소이전 장학금은 1년 이상 타 지역에 주소를 두고 있던 대학생이 제천시로 전입한 뒤 주소를 9개월 이상 유지하면 신청 즉시 100만 원을 지급하는 사업이다.
시는 교내 출장 전입신고 접수처를 운영해 편리한 전입신고 환경을 마련한다. 학생들이 전입신고를 위해 주소지 행정복지센터를 직접 방문해야 하는 불편을 줄이고 참여율을 높이기 위해서다.
출장 전입신고 접수처는 3월 9일부터 세명대학교 학생회관 앞과 대원대학교 교내 편의점 앞에서 오후 1시부터 4시까지 운영된다. 전입신고를 희망하는 학생은 접수처를 방문해 전입신고를 할 수 있으며, 전입으로 인해 발생하는 건강보험료 감면 신청도 함께 할 수 있다.
접수처 방문이 어려운 학생은 정부24 홈페이지 또는 모바일 앱을 통해 전입신고를 하고 장학금을 신청하면 된다. 장학금 신청 창구는 각 대학 학과 사무실에서 4월 3일까지 운영된다.
시 관계자는 “대학생 주소이전 사업이 제천시 인구 증가의 변곡점이 될 수 있도록 적극적으로 추진할 계획”이라며 “주소이전 장학금 외에도 전입 지원금 지급, 제천 투어의 날 운영 등 다양한 혜택을 통해 전입 대학생들이 지역에 애착을 가질 수 있도록 노력하겠다”라고 말했다.

Jecheon City announced that it will provide a KRW 1 million address change scholarship to out-of-county students starting in March.
