【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 관내 중소기업의 인력난 해소와 외국인 주민의 안정적인 지역 정착을 위해 외국인근로자 숙련기능인력(E-7-4) 비자 전환 행정수수료 지원사업을 본격 추진한다.
이번 사업은 숙련도를 갖춘 외국인 근로자가 체류 기간 만료로 출국해야 하는 상황을 방지하고, 장기 고용을 유도해 지역 산업 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
특히 기존 비전문취업(E-9) 비자 근로자가 숙련기능인력(E-7-4) 비자로 전환할 경우 가족 초청이 가능하고 2년 단위로 체류 기간을 제한 없이 연장할 수 있어 제조업 중심의 지역 기업들이 겪는 인력난 해소에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
지원 대상은 진천군 내 중소기업에서 1년 이상 근무 중이며 비자 전환 요건을 충족한 외국인 근로자로, 비자 변경 시 발생하는 행정 수수료 13만 5천 원 전액을 지원한다.
올해는 시범사업으로 연간 20명 한도로 운영되며, 대상자 1인당 1회에 한해 지원이 이뤄진다.
군은 현재 신청 접수와 요건 검토를 상시 진행하고 있으며, 비자 전환 승인이 완료된 근로자와 기업을 대상으로 지원금을 순차적으로 지급할 계획이다.
