【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단양군이 농촌 지역 주민 편의를 높이기 위한 ‘복합형 스마트 쉼터 조성사업’을 본격 추진한다.
군은 지난 11일 적성면 각기민원센터 앞 일원에 조성되는 복합형 스마트 쉼터 공사에 착수했다고 밝혔다.
이 사업은 적성면 북부지역에 주민들이 편안하게 머물 수 있는 휴식 공간과 편의 기능을 결합한 생활밀착형 공간을 조성해 주민 삶의 질을 높이기 위해 추진된다.
사업 대상지는 적성면 각기리 140번지 일원으로 각기민원센터 바로 앞에 위치해 주민 접근성이 높다.
군은 총 9억 원의 사업비를 투입해 연면적 187.77㎡ 규모의 지상 2층 건물로 복합형 쉼터를 조성할 계획이다.
1층에는 주민공간(사무실)과 남·여 화장실이 들어서고, 2층에는 주민 이용이 가능한 사무공간 2개소가 마련된다.
외부 계단과 복도를 함께 설치해 이용 편의성도 높일 예정이다.
쉼터는 냉난방과 휴식 기능을 갖춘 공간으로 조성돼 주민들이 사계절 편안하게 이용할 수 있도록 할 계획이다.
특히 이번 사업은 당초 공중화장실 설치를 목적으로 추진됐으나, 주민 의견을 반영해 휴식 기능을 갖춘 복합형 생활공간으로 확대 조성된다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
군은 올해 1월 계약심사와 일상감사를 완료하고 2월 공유재산 심의를 마치는 등 관련 행정 절차를 마무리했다.
이번 공사를 시작으로 사업 추진에 속도를 내 오는 8월 준공을 목표로 추진할 계획이다.
완공 이후에는 주민 휴식 공간은 물론 각종 주민 소통과 지역 활동이 이뤄지는 생활 거점 공간으로 활용될 전망이다.
군 관계자는 “복합형 스마트 쉼터가 주민들이 편안하게 쉬어갈 수 있는 공간이자 지역 생활 편의를 높이는 거점 공간이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 농촌 지역 주민들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 생활 인프라 확충에 지속적으로 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
