【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천시는 지난 12일 제천우체국과 고독사 예방을 위한‘안부살핌 우편서비스’사업의 성공적인 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
시는 행정안전부가 주관한‘2026년 안부살핌 우편서비스’공모사업에 선정돼 추진하는 이번 사업을 통해 지역 내 취약계층의 사회적 고립과 고독사를 예방하고 촘촘한 지역 복지안전망을 구축한다는 계획이다.
‘안부살핌 우편서비스’는 주기적인 안부 확인이 필요한 1인 고립 가구를 대상으로 시행된다. 우체국 집배원들이 고독사 위험 가구에 월 2회 방문해 생필품을 전달하며 대상자의 생활 실태를 파악하고, 그 결과를 지자체에 회신해 위기 상황 발생 시 맞춤형 복지서비스를 받을 수 있도록 지원하는 방식으로 운영된다.
시는 대상자 선정 및 복지서비스 연계, 모니터링 등 사업 전반을 추진하고, 제천우체국은 집배원의 가구 방문을 통한 안부 확인과 위기 상황을 알리는 역할을 맡게 된다.
김창규 제천시장은 “우체국과의 협업을 통해 복지 사각지대를 줄이고 지역사회 안전망을 더욱 강화할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”라며 “앞으로도 복지사각지대를 선제적으로 발굴하고, 체계적으로 지원해 빈틈없는 촘촘한 제천형 복지를 실현해 나가겠다”라고 말했다.
