이번 사업은 3년에 한 번 추진되는 국제협력 활동으로, 새마을운동의 공동체 정신을 바탕으로 새마을국제협력국가의 지역 학교와 마을, 아동복지시설 등을 대상으로 교육환경 개선과 문화교류 활동을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.
옥천군새마을회는 이번 방문을 통해 아동들이 보다 나은 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 시설 환경을 개선하고, 필요한 물품을 지원하는 등 각종 지원활동을 펼쳤다. 특히 문고지도자들은 마음을 모아 학용품과 도서를 전달하여 따뜻한 나눔의 의미를 더했다.
또한 현지 아동들과 함께하는 교류 활동을 통해 서로의 문화를 이해하는 시간을 가졌으며, 관계자들과의 소통을 통해 향후 지속적인 교류협력 방안에 대해서도 의견을 나눴다.
