【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 특성화고 학생들의 첨단 기자재 활용 능력과 AI 기반 미래 산업기술 역량 강화를 위해 운영하는 공동실습소가 16일 개강식을 시작으로 본격 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
이날 개강식은 청주공업고등학교 공동실습소에서 열렸으며, 공동실습소 교육과정 운영을 안내하고 교육시설에 대한 설명을 듣는 시간을 가졌다.
공동실습소는 특성화고 학생들에게 신산업 및 신기술 분야의 최신 장비를 활용한 기술 교육을 제공하는 교육기관으로, 학교별로 구축하기 어려운 고가의 첨단 실험·실습 장비를 공동으로 활용해 직업계고 학생들의 실무 역량을 높이기 위해 운영되고 있다.
충청북도 내 공동실습소는 공업계열과 농업계열로 구분해 운영되며, 공업계열은 청주공업고등학교와 충북공업고등학교에, 농업계열은 청주농업고등학교에 설치돼 있다.
각 공동실습소에서는 스마트팩토리, 자율주행, 특수기계, 스마트원예 등 산업 현장과 연계된 다양한 공동교육과정을 운영하고 있으며, 직업계고 학생을 대상으로 공동교육과정과 교원 직무연수, 중학생 대상 직업체험 프로그램도 함께 운영하고 있다.
특히 청주공업고등학교 공동실습소는 2022년 교육과정 재구조화와 환경 개선 사업을 통해 실습실과 융합실습관 등 총 10개 실습 공간을 갖춘 첨단 실습 환경을 구축해 특성화고 학생들의 실습 중심 기술 교육을 지원하고 있다.
또한 올해에는 지난해 구축된 충북미래직업체험관을 활용해 고등학생뿐만 아니라 중학생과 초등학생에게도 다양한 진로·직업 탐색 기회를 제공할 예정이다.
정문희 중등교육과장은 “공동실습소 운영을 통해 학생들이 산업 현장에서 요구하는 실무 역량과 신기술을 익혀 미래 산업사회를 이끌 전문 인재로 성장하길 기대한다.”라며 “앞으로도 충북교육청은 현장과 연계한 실무 중심 직업교육을 강화해 학교에서의 배움이 삶의 역량으로 이어질 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
