이번 행사는 충주 지명 탄생 기념일인 ‘충주의 날’을 맞아 어린이들에게 문예활동 기회를 제공하고, 내 고장에 대한 자긍심을 심어주기 위해 마련됐다.
행사는 충주시가 주최하고 한국미술협회 충주지부가 주관하며, 참가 대상은 충주에 거주하는 어린이집·유치원 및 초등학교 재학생이다.
