브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 현대홈쇼핑이 장애가정 학생들에게 13년째 장학금을 지원하며 나눔 행보를 이어간다.
현대홈쇼핑은 30일 서울 강동구 천호동 현대홈쇼핑 본사에서 장애인 가정 장학사업인 ‘하이(H!) 두드림투게더’ 지원금 전달식을 열고 한국장애인재활협회에 장학금 1억5000만원을 전달했다고 밝혔다. 이날 행사에는 한광영 현대홈쇼핑 대표이사와 이일영 한국장애인재활협회 부회장 등이 참석했다.
2014년 시작한 하이(H!) 두드림투게더는 현대홈쇼핑과 한국장애인재활협회가 진행하는 장애가정 장학 사업이다. 이번 지원을 포함해 현대홈쇼핑은 지난 13년간 총 540명의 학생에게 장학금 17억8000만원을 전달했다.
현대홈쇼핑은 매년 중·고등학교에 재학중인 장학생을 선발해 예체능부터 주요 교과목까지 폭넓은 학습 활동을 지원해 왔다. 올해부터는 지원 대상을 대학생과 대학원생까지 확대해 전공 서적 구매비와 강의 수강료 등 실질적인 학업 수행비를 지원할 계획이다.
한광영 현대홈쇼핑 대표이사는 “장애인 가정의 학생들에게 실질적 교육 지원을 통해 잠재력을 실현할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 10년 넘는 기간 동안 하이(H!) 두드림투게더 사업을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다”며 “앞으로도 소외 계층 학생들이 보다 나은 환경에서 학습할 수 있도록 다양한 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 이날 전달식에는 2026학년도 대학 신입생이 된 정민종 학생이 대표로 참석해 의미를 더했다. 정 군은 중학교 2학년 때 장학생으로 선발된 이후 50개월 간 지속적인 지원을 받은 끝에 올해 대학 진학의 꿈을 이뤘다.
