[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국민의힘 조승환 의원(부산 중구 영도구)이 지난 9일 윤종서 예비후보(전 중구청장)의 기자회견 내용에 대해 전혀 사실이 아닌 명백한 허위사실 유포라며 강력한 법적 대응을 예고했다. 조 의원은 10일 입장문을 통해 윤 후보가 제기한 후보 매수 의혹과 공천 공정성 문제를 조목조목 반박했다.
후보 매수 의혹은 명백한 허위… "공직자 자부심 걸고 사실무근"
조승환 의원은 윤 후보가 주장한 후보 매수설에 대해 어떠한 대가 제안이나 거래도 존재한 바 없다며 일축했다. 조 의원은 평생을 공직자로 살아오며 그런 생각조차 한 적이 없다고 강조하며, 이번 주장이 중대한 명예훼손이자 공직선거법 위반 소지가 있다고 지적했다.
단란주점 회동 논란에 "장소는 윤 후보 측이 정한 것"
논란이 된 단란주점 회동에 대해서도 사실관계를 바로잡았다. 조 의원은 해당 장소는 윤 후보 측에서 정한 곳이며, 참석자 5명이 1시간가량 대화를 나눈 것이 전부라고 설명했다. 이를 자극적인 표현으로 왜곡하는 것은 의도적인 프레임 씌우기이며 사실관계를 호도하려는 행위라고 비판했다.
공천은 객관적 절차에 따른 결정… "본인 이력 먼저 되돌아봐야"
공천 과정의 불투명성 주장에 대해서는 공천관리위원회의 객관적 기준과 절차에 따른 것이라고 반박했다. 특히 윤 후보가 타 후보의 이력을 문제 삼으며 공정성을 의심한 것에 대해, 조 의원은 윤 후보 본인의 민주당 이력과 공직선거법 위반으로 인한 당선무효형 전력을 직격했다.
조 의원은 구청장을 꿈꾸던 윤 후보에게 이러한 이력이 오점이 되지 않도록 지역을 위해 헌신하며 솔선수범할 것을 독려해 왔다며, 공천 탈락은 본인의 노력이 그 오점을 씻어내기에 부족했기 때문은 아닌지 되돌아봐야 한다고 꼬집었다.

조 의원은 정당의 존재 목적이 특정 개인이 아닌 지역과 주민을 위한 것임을 상기시키며, 이번 공천 역시 지역의 안정과 발전, 본선 경쟁력을 최우선으로 고려한 결정임을 확인했다.
조 의원은 내뱉은 말에 대한 법적 책임은 물론, 구민을 우롱하고 현혹한 국민의힘 당원으로서의 책임을 반드시 묻겠다며 향후 강경한 대응을 이어갈 방침을 분명히 했다.

Regarding the claims of lack of transparency in the nomination process, Cho countered that it was conducted according to the objective standards and procedures of the Nomination Management Committee. Cho noted that he had encouraged Yoon, who aspired to be a district head, to devote himself to the region so that his past record would not become a flaw. He remarked that Yoon should reflect on whether his efforts were insufficient to overcome those flaws if he failed to secure the nomination.
