[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 남해군이 내년 공공비축미 매입품종으로 조생종은 해담쌀, 중만생종은 새청무를 최종 선정했다고 14일 밝혔다.
지난 10일 열린 공공비축미 매입선정 심의회는 공정성 및 투명성 제고를 위해 농업단체 대표, 벼 재배 농업인 등이 참석해 최근 기후변화에 따른 병해충 발생 양상, 수량성 및 미질, 도정 특성, 밥맛 등 다양한 요소를 종합적으로 검토해 품종을 선정했다.
농가는 반드시 해담쌀, 새청무를 재배해야 하는 것은 아니며, 경영 여건에 따라 품종을 자율적으로 선택할 수 있다. 다만, 공공비축미와 시장격리곡 매입을 희망하는 농가는 해당 품종 외 다른 품종을 출하시 5년간 공공비축미 매입 대상에서 제외되므로 주의해야 한다.
