함안화천농악, 제43회 경남민속예술축제 ‘최우수상’ 수상

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] ‘함안화천농악’이 제43회 경상남도 민속예술축제에서 최우수상을 수상했다.

지난 14일부터 15일까지 창원 용지문화공원에서 개최된 이번 축제에는 도내 10개 팀이 참가해 각 지역을 대표하는 민속예술 공연을 선보였다.

함안군 대표로 출전한 함안화천농악은 전통성과 예술성을 고루 갖춘 완성도 높은 공연을 펼쳐 심사위원과 관람객에게 큰 호응을 얻으며 최고상의 영예를 안았다. 

특히 지역 고유의 전통을 바탕으로 한 짜임새 있는 구성과 역동적인 연희를 선보여 함안화천농악의 우수성과 전승 가치를 널리 알렸다.

이번 수상으로 함안군은 오는 9월 18일부터 20일까지 강원도 평창에서 개최되는 한국민속예술축제에 경상남도 대표로 출전하게 된다.

함안화천농악은 함안군 칠북면 화천마을에서 약 500년 이상 전승돼 온 전통 농악이다. 

지신밟기, 풍농제, 당산제 등 마을 공동체 의례 속에서 마을의 안녕과 풍년을 기원하며 발전해 온 지역 대표 민속예술로, 1991년 경상남도 무형문화재(현, 무형유산)로 지정돼 현재까지 지역 주민과 전승자들을 중심으로 그 명맥을 이어오고 있다.

"Haman Hwacheon Nongak" has won the Grand Prize at the 43rd Gyeongsangnam-do Folk Arts Festival.

Held from the 14th to the 15th at Yongji Cultural Park in Changwon, the festival featured 10 teams from across the province showcasing folk art performances representing their respective regions.

Competing as the representative of Haman-gun, Haman Hwacheon Nongak delivered a high-quality performance that balanced tradition and artistry, receiving enthusiastic responses from both judges and audiences to earn the honor of the top prize.

In particular, by presenting a well-structured composition and dynamic performances based on the region's unique traditions, they widely publicized the excellence and preservation value of Haman Hwacheon Nongak. With this award, Haman County will participate as the representative of Gyeongsangnam-do in the Korean Folk Arts Festival, to be held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do from September 18 to 20.

Haman Hwacheon Nongak is a traditional folk music tradition that has been passed down for over 500 years in Hwacheon Village, Chilbuk-myeon, Haman County.

As a representative regional folk art that has developed within village community rituals such as Jisinbalgi, Pungnongje, and Dangsanje to pray for the well-being and abundant harvest of the village, it was designated as a Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Heritage (currently Intangible Heritage) in 1991 and continues to maintain its lineage to this day, centered around local residents and practitioners.
