[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 여성단체들이 국민의힘의 부산 동구청장 단수공천 결정에 대해 “절차적 정당성과 공정성이 결여됐다”며 재검토를 촉구했다.
부산여성100인행동과 여성정치참여확대를 위한 범여성연대는 14일 오후 서울 여의도 국민의힘 중앙당사 앞에서 기자회견을 열고 “공천 과정에서 지역사회와 당원들의 의견이 충분히 반영되지 않았다”고 비판했다.
단체는 “공천 과정과 관련해 지역사회와 당원들 사이에서 다양한 의견과 우려가 제기되고 있다”며 “특히 여성 구청장 후보를 경선 절차 없이 배제한 단수공천의 배경에 대해 납득할 만한 설명이 부족하다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “당헌당규에 명시된 여성과 청년의 정치참여 확대 취지를 고려할 때 이번 결정이 그 방향성과 부합하는지 점검이 필요하다”며 “공정한 경쟁 절차가 보장돼야 지역사회의 신뢰를 회복할 수 있다”고 강조했다.
단체는 국민의힘 공천관리위원회와 최고위원회를 향해 “부산 동구청장 단수공천 결정에 대해 공정성과 절차적 정당성 확보 차원에서 재검토해 달라”고 요구했다. 또 “공천 과정에서 제기된 다양한 의견과 자료를 객관적이고 충분하게 검토하고, 유권자와 당원들이 참여할 수 있는 공정한 경쟁 절차가 마련돼야 한다”고 촉구했다.
부산여성100인행동은 “공정하고 투명한 공천 절차 확립이 지역 정치 발전의 출발점”이라며 “국민의힘이 책임 있는 판단을 내려 유권자 신뢰를 회복하기를 바란다”고 거듭 촉구했다.

Women’s organizations from Busan on Tuesday called on the ruling People Power Party (PPP) to reconsider its decision to nominate a single candidate for Busan’s Dong-gu district chief, citing a lack of fairness and procedural transparency.
Members of the *Busan Women’s 100 Action* and the *Coalition for Expanding Women’s Political Participation* held a press conference in front of the PPP headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, urging party leaders to ensure a fair and transparent review.
“Various concerns have been raised within the local community and among party members regarding the nomination process,” the groups said in a statement. “It is difficult to accept the single-candidate nomination carried out without a primary, especially when a qualified female candidate was excluded without sufficient explanation.”
The groups also noted that the decision may contradict the party’s own commitment to promoting women’s and youth participation in politics. “A fair and competitive process is essential to rebuilding trust among local voters and party members,” they said.
They urged the PPP’s Nomination Committee and Supreme Council to “reconsider the single-candidate decision for Busan Dong-gu, carefully review all relevant opinions and materials submitted by local voters, and guarantee fair competition.”
“Establishing a fair and transparent nomination process is the foundation for developing local politics,” Busan Women’s 100 Action added. “We expect a responsible and principled decision from the party leadership.”
