전라남도와 여수시, (재)2026여수세계섬박람회 조직위원회는 16일 여수엑스포기념관 그랜드홀에서 김민석 국무총리와 함께 ‘준비상황 보고회’를 개최했다. 이번 점검은 지난 14일 이재명 대통령이 중앙정부 차원의 전폭적인 지원 필요성을 언급한 데 따른 후속 조치로 풀이된다.
이날 보고회 직후 김 총리와 관계자들은 부행사장인 화정면 개도 현장을 방문했다. 현장 점검에서는 섬어촌문화센터 조성사업과 교통·편의시설 구축 현황을 집중적으로 살폈다.
