(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도가 야간과 휴일에도 안심하고 소아 진료를 받을 수 있는 ‘지역 맞춤형 의료체계’를 완성하며 아이 키우기 좋은 환경 조성에 속도를 내고 있다.
그동안 전남 일부 시군에서는 의료 인프라 격차로 인해 밤이나 공휴일에 아이가 아플 경우 진료 가능한 병원을 찾아 인근 대도시로 이동해야 하는 등 보호자들의 불편이 컸다.
전남도는 이러한 의료 공백을 해소하기 위해 보건복지부에 제도 개선을 건의하고 공모 사업을 확보하는 한편, 지역 의사회 및 의료기관과 꾸준히 협의해온 결과 전 권역을 아우르는 소아 진료 기반을 마련했다고 밝혔다.
이번 인프라 확충의 핵심은 권역별 거점 병원 확보를 통한 접근성 제고다.
서부권에 목포 미즈아이병원을 ‘달빛어린이병원’으로 신규 지정해 야간 진료 공백을 메웠다.동부권원은 기존 3개소(순천 2, 광양 1)에서 여수 참조은연합의원과 참조은소아청소년과의원이 추가되어 총 5개소로 확대 운영된다.
중부권은 나주 혁신도시 내 엔에이치미래아동병원이 보건복지부 ‘취약지 야간 진료기관 육성사업’에 선정되면서 전남 전역에서 야간 진료가 가능한 토대를 구축했다.
전남도는 실질적인 환경 개선을 위해 예산 지원도 대폭 강화했다. 주요 사업으로는 ▲취약지 응급의료기관 장비 지원(22개소, 60억 원) ▲달빛어린이병원 운영 지원(7개소, 4억 원) ▲응급의료기관 운영비 지원(45개소, 58억 원) ▲닥터헬기 운용(44억 원) 등이 포함됐다.
향후 전남도는 달빛어린이병원을 지속적으로 확대 지정하고, 지역모자의료센터(NICU)를 추가 설치하는 등 소아·청소년 의료 안전망을 더욱 공고히 할 계획이다.
