‘경주예술학교’는 해방 후 지방에서는 최초로 문교부로부터 승인받은 예술전문 교육기관이다. 경주예술학교의 교수진과 졸업생들의 활동과 업적은 경주뿐만 아니라 한국 근현대미술사의 중요한 뿌리 중 하나로 평가받고 있다.
