엄중한 상황 속에서도 흔들림 없이 변화와 희망을 이끌어낼 수 있었던 것은 시민 여러분들의 협조와 응원 덕분입니다. 성숙한 시민의식으로 연대해 주시고 뜻과 의지를 모아주신 시민 여러분께 깊은 존경과 감사의 말씀을 전합니다.
여전히 멈출 줄 모르는 감염병의 확산세로 시민들이 겪을 피로감과 고통을 생각하면 마음 한편이 아프고 또 무겁습니다. 우리 대구시의회는 더 이상은 물러설 수 없다는 비상한 각오로 조속한 일상 회복과 지역경제 활성화, 청년희망도시로의 전진을 위해 모든 역량을 모으겠습니다.
미래차, 로봇, 첨단의료, 물산업, 콘텐츠 산업 등 미래 먹거리 산업을 더 튼튼하게 키워내 2022년이 대구경제 재도약의 원년이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다해 함께 뛰겠습니다.
사랑하는 시민 여러분!
2022년은 지방자치2.0시대를 시작하는 역사적인 해입니다.
주민조례발안제를 도입해 주민이 의회에 조례를 직접 발의하는 직접발안기능이 강화되고, 지방의회 인사권 독립과 정책지원 전문인력 도입 등 지방의회가 제대로 일할 수 있는 제도적 여건이 마련되었습니다.
우리 시의회는 강화된 지방의회의 권한과 위상에 걸맞은 선도적인 의정활동으로 성숙한 풀뿌리 민주주의를 강화해 가겠습니다. 또한 재정분권, 자치입법권, 조직권한 독립 등 보완책을 치열하게 연구하며 진일보한 변화들을 이끌어내겠습니다.
대구시의회는 새해에도 늘 변함없이 시민 가까이에서 희망을 만들어가겠습니다. 임기 마지막 날까지 유능한 시민의 대표자이자 일 잘하는 믿음직한 일꾼으로, 주어진 역할, 맡겨진 책임, 약속된 공약들을 성실히 완수해갈 것입니다.
찬란히 밝아올 새아침의 설렘과 희망이 대구 곳곳에 메아리치는 2022년이 되기를 바라며, 대구시민 모두의 가정에 건강과 행운이 깃들길 기원 드립니다.

It was thanks to the cooperation and support of the citizens that we were able to bring about change and hope without faltering even in dire circumstances. I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to the citizens for solidarity with a mature civic consciousness and for bringing together their will and will.
When I think of the fatigue and pain that citizens will experience due to the still-unstoppable spread of the infectious disease, my heart aches and feels heavy. With the extraordinary determination that we, the Daegu City Council, cannot step back any longer, we will gather all our capabilities to quickly restore daily life, revitalize the local economy, and move forward as a city of hope for youth.
We will do our best to make 2022 the first year of a new leap forward for the Daegu economy by nurturing future food industries such as future cars, robots, high-tech medical care, water industry, and contents industry.
Dear citizens!
2022 is a historic year that begins the era of Local Autonomy 2.0.
By introducing the resident ordinance initiative system, the direct initiative function for residents to directly propose ordinances to the council has been strengthened, and institutional conditions have been created for local councils to work properly, including independence of local council personnel rights and introduction of professional manpower for policy support.
Our city council will strengthen mature grassroots democracy through leading legislative activities worthy of the strengthened authority and status of local councils. In addition, we will intensively study supplementary measures such as fiscal decentralization, autonomous legislative power, and independence of organizational authority to bring about progressive changes.
Daegu City Council will continue to create hope in the new year, close to the citizens. Until the last day of my tenure, I will faithfully fulfill my assigned roles, entrusted responsibilities, and promised promises as a competent citizen representative and reliable worker.
I hope that 2022 will be a year in which the excitement and hope of a bright new morning echo all over Daegu, and I wish the families of Daegu citizens good health and good luck.
