계명대, ‘2022년 지역 이공계 여성 인재 양성사업' 주관대학 선정

계명대(총장 신일희)가 ‘2022년 지역 이공계 여성 인재 양성사업(R-WeSET2.0)’사업에 대경강원권 주관대학으로 선정됐다.

과학기술정보통신부와 한국여성과학기술인육성재단(WISET)은 지역 이공계 여성 인재의 역량을 향상해 신기술분야 진출을 촉진하고, 지역경제를 활성화하기 위해 R-WeSET2.0사업을 추진한다.

전국을 대상으로 4개 컨소시엄을 선정하는 이번 사업에서 대구대·한림대와 함께 컨소시엄을 구성한 계명대는 사업 선정을 통해 올해부터 3년간 국비 5억원, 시비 1억 2천만 원, 도비 5천만 원을 지원받게 된다.

계명대는 김은정(도시계획학전공) 교수를 사업총괄책임으로 두고, 사업단을 구성해 자기주도형 공학 프로그램 및 신기술분야 실무역량 전문교육 등을 추진할 예정이며 특히, 여중고생을 위한 이공계 친화적 교육프로그램을 구축해 운영하고, 여대생 특화 취업 진로 지도교육으로 전공 연계 취업도 유도한다는 계획이다.

김은정 교수는 “이번 사업선정으로 여성의 이공계분야 진학 및 사회진출의 성별 격차를 감소하고, 여성과학기술인 육성의 저변 마련을 위해 노력하고자 한다.”며, “이공계여성인재의유입 및 역량 확대를 통해 지역 여성 인재의 신기술분야 진출을 촉진하고, 지역 경제 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 보인다.”고 말했다.
