대구 찾은 민주당 미래경제위원회, '영남권 대학도시' 계획 발표

더불어민주당 선대위 후보직속 미래경제위원회(위원장 이광재)가 대구를 방문한 가운데 ‘영남권 대학도시’에 대한 계획을 전했다.

미래경제위원회 위원장을 맡은 이광재 의원은 19일 대구 중구 대봉동 민주당 대구시당에서 기자회견을 개최하고 일자리 미스매치·지방대학 소멸위기·청년주거 문제를 해소할 방안으로 ‘대학도시’ 건설 추진을 제안했다.

이광재 의원은 “지방도시를 어떻게 살려낼 것인가를 고민했을 때, 대학도시.기업도시.혁신도시 이 세가지를 효과적으로 활용하는 것이 핵심”이라고 강조하며 ?학내 유휴지를 활용한 주거공간 공급 ?지역특화산업 연계 창업전사 양성 ?기업.혁신도시 연계형 대학도시로 인센티브 제공 및 특성학과 인재채용 등을 제안했다.

그러면서 이 의원은 “경산 같은 경우 10개 대학이 몰려있는데 이런 곳을 대학도시로 만들면 지역경제에 새로운 엔진이 될 수 있을 것”이라고 설명하며 “지방으로 오는 기업에게는 과감한 혜택이 있어야 한다고 이재명 후보와 함께 생각하고 있다"며 법인세 인하 등의 지원을 언급했다.

이어 이날 함께 자리한 남부권경제대책위원회 홍의락 위원장은 “지방은 일자리 뿐만 아니라 정보와 네트워크의 부족 문제도 큰 것 같다”면서 “남부권은 서로 거점과 그 주변이 생활권으로 연결 될 수 있도록 만들어야만 서울로 흡입되지 않고 살아남을 수 있을 것”이라고 생각을 전했다.

아울러 홍 위원장은 “지방에 대학도시 등 혁신 경제생태계를 조성하여 좋은 도시와 공간을 만들어 인재가 몰려들고 청년이 남을 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 덧붙였다.
