대구대학교(총장 김상호)가 ‘글로벌 대학도시 건설 정책 세미나’를 개최했다.
대구대 19일 경산캠퍼스 성산홀 17층 스카이라운지에서 개최된 ‘글로벌 대학도시 건설 정책 세미나’는 이광재 국회의원실이 주최하고 대구대 창업지원단이 주관한 것으로 더불어민주당 이광재 의원, 대구대 김상호 총장을 비롯하여 대구대·경일대·대구가톨릭대·대구한의대·영남대 등 경산지역 대학 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.

이번 정책 세미나는 10개 대학이 소재한 교육도시 경산을 청년창업 중심의 글로벌 대학도시로 건설하기 위한 정책 교류의 자리로 마련되었다.
김호림 전 고려대 교수의 ‘농촌창업특화 에코융합 대학도시 모델’이라는 주제발표를 시작으로 대구대 이재현 창업지원단장과 박길환 국제처장의 ‘글로컬 대학도시, 청년 창업특구, 경산’이라는 주제로 발표를 이어갔다.
이어 참석자들은 경산지역을 글로벌 대학도시로 건설하기 위한 방안을 모색하는 자유토론 시간을 가지며 다양한 의견을 나눴다.
이광재 의원은 “창업선도대학인 대구대에서 대학도시 경산의 미래와 대한민국의 대학이 앞으로 나아갈 길을 고민하는 자리가 됐다”면서 “대학이 청년세대의 둥지, 창업의 메카로, 나를 위한 대학-도시로 다시 태어날 수 있도록 하겠다”고 강조했다. ”고 말했다.
김상호 총장은 “이광재 의원님을 비롯한 국회의원실 및 지역대학 관계자들의 대구대 방문을 뜨거운 마음으로 환영한다”며 “오늘 뿌린 작은 씨앗이 앞으로 글로벌 대학도시와 청년창업특구로서의 경산으로 나아갈 수 있는 결실을 맺을 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
