특히, 입후보예정자 등의 택배 이용 선물 제공과 지방자치단체의 예산집행을 빙자하여 위법한 금품을 제공하는 등의 기부행위를 중점 단속할 예정이다.
또한 위법행위 발생 시 광역조사팀을 동시에 투입하고 휴대폰 등 디지털포렌식 및 디지털인증시스템(DAS)* 등 과학적 조사 기법 등을 적극 활용할 계획이다.
이에 따라 금품이나 음식물 등을 제공받은 사람에게는 최고 3천만 원의 범위에서 50배 이하의 과태료를 부과하되, 자수한 사람에게는 사안에 따라 과태료를 감면해 주고, 위법행위 신고자에게는 최고 5억 원의 포상금도 지급한다고 밝혔다.
경북선관위 관계자는 “올해는 양대 선거를 앞두고 있는 만큼 설 연휴기간 중에도 선거법 위반행위 신고·접수 체제를 유지한다”면서 “위법행위를 발견하면 적극적으로 신고해주시길 바란다”는 당부를 전했다.
