경북교육청이 2022년도 통학차량 운영에 207억 원을 투입할 예정이라고 4일 밝혔다.
경북교육청은 농어촌 학교의 통학여건 개선과 학생 안전 강화 및 안전사고 예방을 위해 올해부터 교육 접근성이 현저히 떨어지는 도내 농어촌 학교 18교에 19대의 통학차량을 추가로 지원할 계획을 전했다.

또한, 학생 안전 강화와 안전사고 예방을 위해 노후 통학차량의 교체기준을 주행거리와 관계없이 최초 등록한 날로부터 10년이 경과한 경우 교체하도록 개선했다.
이를 위해 2022년도 통학차량 관련 예산은 전년 대비 14억 8,025만 원이 증액된 207억 7,069만 원으로 △통학차량 운영비 178억 8,363만 원(통학차량 추가구입비 7억 7,700만 원 포함) △노후 통학차량 교체비 28억 5,976만 원(총 32대, 초등학교 26대, 중학교 2대, 특수학교 장애인용 리프트 설치 차량 4대) 등이다.
올해 통학차량은 전년도 817대에서 836대로 19대 늘어나 교통이 열악한 농어촌 지역의 통학 여건이 개선될 것으로 기대된다.
