여래승가회(대표 성담스님) 소속 큰스님들이 모여 국민의힘 윤석열 대통령 후보 지지선언을 했다.
지난 9일 국민의힘 대구시당 5층 강당에서 열린 지지선언식은 성담스님을 비롯하여 대각스님, 해광스님, 송현스님, 도윤스님 등 약 15명의 주지 스님들과 약 20명의 불교 신자들, 국민의힘 대구 선대위 주호영 총괄선거대책위원장이 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.

이날 행사에 참석한 주호영 총괄선거대책위원장은 “바쁜 시간을 내어 와주신 주지사 큰스님들께 정말 큰 감사를 드린다. 일당백을 넘어 일당천의 역할을 해주시는 스님들이 함께 해주시는 것만으로도 든든하다.”며 “곧 다가오는 대선에서 필승할 수 있도록 오늘 스님들이 주시는 성의와 지지를 윤 후보께 고스란히 전달하도록 하겠다.”고 인사말을 건넸다.
이어 성담스님은“대한민국의 법치와 민주주의, 공정과 상식 회복을 위해 호국불교 정신으로 윤석열 후보 지지에 뜻을 모았다”고 밝히며 “무소불위, 안하무인 폭정을 저지르는 현 정부를 더 이상 두고 볼 수 없어 지역의 큰스님들이 한마음 한뜻이 되어 이 자리에 모였다.”고 전했다.
그러면서 “공정과 상식의 나라를 되찾기 위한 적임자는 살아있는 권력에 맞서 싸운 윤석열 후보이며 대한민국을 올바르게 바로 잡고, 불교의 가르침에 적합한 나라를 만들 수 있는 사람도 바로 윤석열 후보”라고 강조했다.
