국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)가 ‘2021학년도 전기 학위수여식’을 개최했다.
18일 본관 대강당에서 열린 이번 학위수여식의 학위 수여 인원은 학사 1,106명, 석사 95명, 박사 25명 등 총 1,226명으로 행사는 코로나19 상황에 따라 총장 및 보직자, 학위 수여 대표자 등 최소 인원이 참석한 가운데 진행되었다.

이날 학위수여식에는 졸업생들을 축하하기 위해 구자근 국회의원(구미시 갑)과 김영식 국회의원(구미시 을), 원종욱 대학원총동창회장, 신현조 최고경영자과정총동창회장 등이 참석해 축하를 전하였으며 곽호상 총장의 학위수여식과 내빈 축사, 학사 및 석·박사 졸업증서 수여, 졸업생 대표 인사, 그리고 우수논문상 및 특별포상에 대한 상장 수여 순으로 진행됐다.
졸업생 대표인 박태엽(전자공학부 졸업) 학생은 “장학 지원과 취업 동아리 활동, 다양한 프로젝트 참여, 교환학생 등 대학의 여러 지원을 바탕으로 저를 비롯한 졸업생들은 다양한 경험의 기회를 누릴 수 있었다”며, “모교에서 배운 지식과 경험으로 넓은 세상에 나아가 사회에 기여할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
곽호상 금오공대 총장은 “노력과 인내의 시간을 보내고 오늘 인생의 새로운 막을 여는 졸업생 여러분께 진심으로 축하의 인사와 응원의 마음을 보낸다”며, “이제 기회와 위기가 교차하는 대전환의 한복판으로 걸어갈 졸업생들이 유연한 사고로 시야를 넓히고, 언제나 배우려는 자세로 다양한 경험을 쌓아 스스로 인생의 주인공이 되기를 바란다”고 당부했다.
