영진전문대학교(총장 최재영) ‘2021년 교원양성기관 역량진단’에서 지역 전문대 유아교육과 가운데 유일하게 최우수 등급을 받아 5회 연속 A등급을 획득하는 쾌거를 이뤘다고 밝혔다.
유아교육과가 교육부와 한국교육개발원이 실시하는 교원양성기관 역량진단은 예비교원 양성교육의 질을 관리하기 위해 1998년부터 시작되었으며 이번 5주기 4차 연도 평가는 교육대학, 교원대 및 전문대학 등에 설치된 교원양성기관 등 총 114개교(174개 기관)를 대상으로 진행되었다.
영진전문대학교 유아교육과는 우수 교원 양성을 위한 기본 교육과정에 충실한 것은 물론 창의성을 함양하고 글로벌 시대가 요구하는 교원 양성에 집중해왔다. 이를 통해 지금까지 실시된 교원양성기관 역량진단에서 모두 최우수 등급을 획득하며 우수 교원양성 기관으로서의 입지를 굳히게 되었다.

또한 대학교 유치원 부설 아동창의성계발연구소의 지원으로 창의성 향상을 위한 교육과 대구경북영어마을의 지원 아래 글로벌 인재에 요구되는 교육도 펼치고 있으며 특히 2022학년도부터 우수교사 양성을 위한 기본 교육과정에 더해 유아창의성교육반, 유아영어교육반, 하이브리드교육반으로 특성화한 심화교육도 운영할 계획이다.
이와 함께 학생들이 자율적으로 참여해 전문성을 높이는 영진자율향상프로그램(YAP)을 방과 후와 방학기간에도 상시 운영해 심리상담, 인성교육 등 유아 교사로서의 자질을 높이는데 노력할 계획이다.
송혜영 유아교육과 학과장은 “우리 학과는 교원양성기관 역령진단 5회 연속 최고 등급을획득, 최근 5년간 임용시험에 21명 합격, 학사학위 전공심화과정 비수도권 인문사회계열 중 최고점 획득 등 우수성을 인정받았다”면서 “올해부터 창의성과 영어교육에 더욱 집중해 전문성과 인성을 겸비한 유아교육 인재 양성의 선도모델을 제시하겠다”고 말했다.
