국립금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상) ‘제2기 경북도민행복대학 구미캠퍼스 위탁사업(이하 경북도민행복대학)’에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
지난 2021년 1기를 시작으로 첫발을 내딛은 ‘경북도민행복대학’사업은 지역민들을 대상으로 연간 30주 이상의 과정으로 운영된다.

해당 사업은 지역과 대학의 특성 및 자원을 활용한 학습과정으로 구성되며, 올해는 지역의 역사.전통.문화 등을 담은 ‘경북학’, 미래 전망을 고찰하는 ‘미래학’, 시민 소양 가치를 탐구하는 ‘시민학’의 3개 공통과정과 생활.환경, 사회.경제, 문화.예술, 인문학 등 지역 특성을 반영한 특화과정을 통해 수준 높은 평생학습이 지역민들에게 제공된다.
사업을 수행하는 금오공대 평생교육원(원장 김영형)은 올해 1단계 서류심사와 2단계 민간위탁 심사위원회 심사를 거쳐 2기 위탁사업 캠퍼스로 최종 선정됐다. 이를 통해 올해 12월 31일까지 역할을 수행한다.
금오공대는 ‘평생학습 문화공동체 경북, 미래형 학습도시 건설’을 비전으로, △대학 자원을 활용한 고품격 교육 △미래 산업 트렌드를 반영한 맞춤형 교육 △구미시민들과 동반 성장하는 평생교육사업 등을 2기 경북도민행복대학의 주요 방향으로 추진할 계획이다.
김영형 금오공대 평생교육원장은 “그동안 지역민의 학습역량 강화와 평생학습 체계 구축을 위해 노력해 온 금오공대는 앞으로도 지역의 평생교육 활성화와 학습공동체 문화 조성에 기여할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
