글로벌서울안과 최화수 원장이 경북 울진과 강원 삼척 등 산불 피해 이웃돕기 성금 1억 원을 기부하며, 희망브리지 고객 기부 모임인 '아너스 클럽'에도 가입했다.
희망브리지 전국재해구호협회(회장 송필호)는 글로벌서울안과 최화수 원장이 산불 피해복구와 지원을 위해 써달라며 1억 원을 전해왔다고 9일 밝혔다.
희망브리지에 따르면 최화수 원장은 “갑작스러운 화재로 피해를 입은 이재민들과 화재 진압에 헌신하는 분들께 도움이 되었으면 좋겠습니다”라는 메시지를 전하며 이번 산불 기부를 계기로 고액 기부 모임인 희망브리지 아너스 클럽에도 가입하며 더 많은 재난 피해 이웃을 위한 활동을 위해 지원을 펼칠 예정이다.
글로벌서울안과는 이번 산불 피해 지원 외에도 2020년 집중호우로 인한 수해 때도 희망브리지를 통해 1억 원을 기부하며 진정성 있는 사회공헌을 이어온 기업이다.
울진 산불 현장에서 지원 활동을 펼친 희망브리지 김정희 사무총장은 "최화수 원장의 희망브리지 아너스 클럽 가입을 진심으로 반기고 감사하다"고 고마움을 나타내며 “글로벌서울안과의 따뜻한 정으로 산불 피해 주민들이 다시 일어설 수 있도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”라며 신속한 피해 지원과 복구를 다짐했다.
희망브리지는 이 같은 사회 각계각층의 기부 행렬 동참으로 가수‧배우‧스포츠선수 등 유명인과 시민 55만여 명이 참여해 모금 개시 6일(9일 15시 기준) 만에 343여억 원의 모금(약정 포함)이 이뤄졌다고 밝혔다.
아울러 이 같은 모금에 힘입어 8일 오후 6시까지 △생필품과 의류가 포함된 이재민 구호 키트 3천25세트 △대피소 칸막이 94동 △방한 의류 5천200벌을 비롯해 방역 마스크와 식품, 음료 등 23만7422점을 이재민들에게 전했다. 앞으로도 임시주거시설과 식료품, 의류, 침구류 등을 지원하는 한편 이재민들이 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 인명‧주택 피해 지원과 심리 회복 지원 등에 성금을 사용할 계획이다.
재난 구호모금 전문기관인 희망브리지 전국재해구호협회는 1961년 전국의 신문사와 방송사, 사회단체가 힘을 모아 설립한 순수 민간단체이자 국내 자연재해 피해 구호금을 지원할 수 있는 유일한 법정 구호단체다. 특히 공익법인 평가 기관인 한국가이드스타가 발표하는 공익법인 투명성, 재무안정성 평가에서 4년 연속으로 최고등급을 받는 등 국민 성금을 투명하게 배분하며 집행하고있다.
