이양호 구미시장 예비후보가 ‘구미종합터미널 신축 및 도심공항터미널 유치’와 ‘국제도시 구미 아시아 최대 컨벤션 센터 건립, 세계명품 아울렛 유치’ 공약을 발표했다.

이에 대해 그는 “기존의 버스터미널을 매입하고, 그 자리에 복합버스터미널을 건립해 도심공항 터미널 유치, 복합 환승 터미널로의 기능 확대, 대전과 전라도 방면으로까지 시외노선을 확대하도록 하겠다.”면서 “경영 개선 차원에서 수하물 창고, 패스트 푸드점과 식당, 잡화점, 각종 쇼핑물 매점 등을 입점하는 등 복합 기능을 추가한다면 정상적인 운영이 가능하다”고 설명했다.
