브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 송영길 더불어민주당 전 대표의 6·1 지방선거 서울시장 출마를 놓고, 당 내에서 반발이 확산되고 있다.
특히 당내 86(80년대 학번·60년대생)그룹과 서울 지역 의원들의 반대가 거센 상황이다.
서울(영등포구을) 3선 의원으로 86그룹 중진인 김민석 의원은 4일 기자회견을 열고 "하산 신호를 내린 기수가 갑자기 나홀로 등산을 선언하나"라며 송영길 전 대표의 출마를 맹비판했다.
김 의원은 크게 ▲대선 패배 책임론, ▲86그룹 용퇴론 제기 후 본인 출마, ▲인천 계양을 보궐선거 발생 책임 등을 문제삼았다.
그러면서 당 내 유력 서울시장 후보군으로 거론되는 이낙연 전 대표, 추미애 전 장관, 정세균 전 총리, 박주민·우상호 의원, 임종석 전 청와대 비서실장 등 중에서 여론조사를 통해 서울시장 후보를 뽑아야 한다고 했다.
그는 "대선 책임을 지고 대표직은 사퇴한 지 얼마 안 돼 큰 선거의 후보를 자임한 데 대해 대국민 설명과 사과가 필요하다"라며 "모든 인적자원을 놓고 지도부가 책임 있는 전략적 검토와 실행을 시작해야 한다"고 주장했다.
86그룹이자 송영길 전 대표의 연세대 동기인 우상호 의원도 TBS라디오에서 "송 전 대표의 사실상 출마선언으로 다른 카드들이 다 물 건너갔다"면서 "당의 유력한 당대표가 딱 앉아서 경선하자고 버티고 있는데 바깥에 있는 참신한 분들이 어떻게 들어오느냐"고 지적했다.
우상호 의원은 이재명 전 대선후보가 이낙연 전 대표의 서울시장 출마를 권유한 것도 언급하며 "이낙연 선배는 송영길 대표가 나오겠다고 하는 판에 한참 후배하고 경선하려고 하겠느냐"면서 "당에서 (이 전 대표에게) '좀 살려주십시오, 선배님 아니면 안 됩니다'라고 정말 읍소하지 않는 한 송 대표와 경선하면서까지 서울시장에 출마한다는 생각은 꿈도 안 꿀 것"이라고 주장했다.
박주민 의원 역시 BBS라디오에서 "상당히 많은 의원들이 반대하는 것 같다"며 "이유는 여러가지가 있겠지만 우선 대선 패배 책임을 지고 물러나겠다던 지도부가 특별한 이유없이 복귀한단 것도 이해가 안 되고, 원래 서울지역 출신도 아니지 않나"라고 전했다.
한편 송영길 전 대표는 지난 1일 페이스북을 통해 서울시장 출마를 공식화 했다. 그는 "이제 누가 서울에서 승리할 수 있을지 당과 당원과 지지자들께서 판단하는 시간이 될 것"이라며 "오직 지방선거의 승리를 위해 당원으로서 직책과 직분을 가리지 않고 헌신하겠다"고 밝혔다.
Song Young-gil runs for mayor of Seoul, spreading opposition within the Democratic Party
Opposition is spreading within the party over former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil's candidacy for Seoul mayor in the June 1 local elections.
In particular, opposition from the 86th (80s, 60s) group and lawmakers in Seoul is strong.
Rep. Kim Min-seok, a third-term lawmaker in Seoul (Yeongdeungpo-gu) and a senior member of the 86 Group, held a press conference on the 4th and criticized former CEO Song Young-gil's candidacy, saying, "The rider who gave a signal to descend suddenly declares climbing alone."
Rep. Kim took issue with the responsibility for losing the ▲ presidential election, the responsibility for running for the ▲86 group, and the responsibility for the ▲ Incheon by-election.
Lee Nak-yeon, former prime minister Choo Mi-ae, former prime minister Chung Sye-kyun, Park Joo-min and Woo Sang-ho, and Lim Jong-seok, former chief of staff of Cheong Wa Dae, should be selected through public opinion polls.
He said, "We need to explain and apologize to the public for appointing a candidate for a large election shortly after resigning from the presidential election responsible for the presidential election," adding, "The leadership should begin responsible strategic review and implementation for all human resources."
Woo Sang-ho, a member of the 86 group and former CEO Song Young-gil's colleague at Yonsei University, also pointed out on TBS Radio, "All other cards have gone out of the question due to Song's de facto declaration of candidacy," adding, "The party leader is sitting down and holding out for the election."
Referring to former presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung's recommendation to run for Seoul mayor, Rep. Woo Sang-ho said, "Will Lee Nak-yeon run for Seoul mayor?" adding, "Will he not think of running for Seoul mayor even if the party doesn't complain?"
Rep. Park Joo-min also said on BBS Radio, "Many lawmakers seem to oppose it," adding, "There may be many reasons, but I don't understand that the leadership, which said it would step down to take responsibility for losing the presidential election, will return for no special reason, and it's not originally from Seoul."
Meanwhile, former CEO Song Young-gil made his candidacy for Seoul mayor official on Facebook on the 1st. Now it will be time for the party, party members and supporters to judge who can win in Seoul, he said. "I will devote myself to my duties and duties as a party member only to win the local election."
