모던 국악 공연의 길을 가는 '부지화(不知畵)'가 오는 7월 1930년대 트로트 문을 연다.
공연은 오는 7월13일 저녁 7시 서울 오류동의 오류아트홀에서 '1930년대 트로트인 만요' 공연의 막을 올린다.
만요는 일제 강점기인 1930년대 익살스러운 가사와 멜로디로 인기를 끌었던 대중가요를 말한다. 가사와 멜로디는 코믹하지만, 억압된 시대에 현실의 슬픔을 토로하고 부조리한 사회를 비판하는 내용이 담겨 있다.
장기화된 코로나 팬데믹으로 온국민이 지친 시기에 익살스러운 만요가 치유의 힘을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 이번 공연을 기획했다.
부지화예술단 강현준 대표는 "뒤틀림과 풍자로 우스꽝스러운 겉모양과는 달리 안으로 현실의 슬픔을 토로하고 부조리한 사회를 고발하려는 비판성을 자유로운 가사에 담아 표현한 곡이 만요"라며 "만요의 즐겁고 자유로운 가사와 숨은 이야기가 많은 국민에게 즐거움과 치유가 될 것이라 믿는다"고 밝혔다.
이번 공연은 '인터뷰' 형식으로 진행된다. 단순히 만요를 들려주는 것에서 벗어나 만요를 들려주는 '꾼'(어떤 일을 잘하는 사람)과의 인터뷰를 통해 꾼들의 예술세계를 함께 들여다본다. 기사로 읽는 인터뷰가 아닌, 공연으로 듣는 인터뷰를 선보이며 만요와 꾼의 숨겨진 이야기를 함께 들려주겠다는 취지다. 인터뷰는 40년 경력의 박상문 기자가 진행할 예정이다.
이번 공연의 첫 번째 주인공은 1986년생 경기민요 소리꾼 이은혜다. 이은혜는 국가무형문화재 제57호 경기민요 이수자로, 현재 국립부산국악원 성악단의 단원으로 활동하고 있다. 제13회 대한민국 전통국악경연대회 국회의장상과 제25회 전국민요경창대회 대통령상을 수상하기도 했다.
이은혜는 이번 공연에서 '오빠는 풍각쟁이야', '목포의 눈물', '사의 찬미', '낙랑 18세' 등 우리에게도 익숙한 만요들을 들려주고 젊은 국악인의 이야기를 풀어놓을 예정이다.
이은혜는 "1920~1930년대 노래들을 소재로 재미있는 공연을 해보고자 한다"며 "다채로운 국악 모던 공연들로 국악이 대중들과 한층 더 가까워질 수 있는 기회가 많이 만들어지고 보급됐으면 하는 바람"이라고 말했다.
이번 공연은 부지화 예술단과 휴먼스 오브 코리아가 주최하며 더블에스아트컴퍼니가 주관한다. 공연예매는 7월 5일부터 할 수 있다.
'Bujihwa', which goes on the path of modern Korean traditional music performance, will open its 1930s trot in July.
The performance will open on July 13th at 7pm at Oryu Art Hall in Oryu-dong, Seoul, with the '1930s Trot in Manyo' performance.
Manyo refers to a popular song that was popular with humorous lyrics and melodies in the 1930s, during the Japanese colonial period. Lyrics and melodies are comical, but they contain content that expresses the sadness of reality in a time of oppression and criticizes an absurd society.
This concert was planned with the expectation that the humorous Manyo will give healing power at a time when the whole nation is exhausted due to the prolonged corona pandemic.
Bujihwa Arts Troupe CEO Kang Hyeon-jun said, "Unlike its comical appearance with twists and satire, Manyo is a song that expresses the criticality of expressing the sadness of reality inside and accusing the absurd society in free lyrics." I believe that the hidden story will bring joy and healing to many people.”
This performance will be held in the form of an 'interview'. Going beyond simply playing manyo, we take a look into the art world of kooks through an interview with a 'kun' (a person who is good at certain things) who listens to manyo. The purpose is to tell the hidden story of Manyo and Kun by presenting an interview that is heard as a performance rather than an interview read as an article. The interview will be conducted by Park Sang-moon, a reporter with 40 years of experience.
The first protagonist of this performance is Eunhye Lee, a singer born in 1986 in Gyeonggi folk song. Lee Eun-hye is a national intangible cultural asset No. 57 Gyeonggi folk song learner, and she is currently a member of the Busan National Gugak Center vocal troupe. She also won the President's Award at the 13th Korean Traditional Traditional Music Contest and the President's Award at the 25th National Folk Song Competition.
In this performance, Eun-hye Lee is going to tell many stories familiar to us, such as 'Oppa is a geek', 'Tears of Mokpo', 'Praise of Death', and 'Nakrang 18', and tell the story of a young Korean musician.
Eun-hye Lee said, "I want to do a fun performance based on songs from the 1920s and 1930s.
