[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 제8회 창원음식문화축제의 성공적인 개최를 위한 추진위원회를 28일 열어 오는 10월 29일 열릴 축제의 성공적인 개최를 위한 본격적인 준비작업에 들어갔다.
추진위원회는 식품 관련 대학교수·단체, 식품 전문가 등 15명으로 구성됐으며, 이날 위원장 및 임원을 선출하고, 축제 계획 등 행사 추진에 대한 다양한 의견을 수렴하는 등 활발한 논의가 이어졌다.
현재 코로나19 확산세가 뚜렷하나, 음식문화축제가 10월에 예정되어 있어 향후 추이를 살펴 축제를 개최하는 방향으로 추진위원회에서 결정했다.
이에 시는 2020년, 2021년은 코로나19의 대유행으로 인해 음식문화축제를 개최하지 못하여 창원시민들에게 많은 아쉬움을 남긴 만큼, 올해 열릴 제8회 창원음식문화축제는 체험관 운영을 확대해 창원시민들이 직접 체험하고 즐길 수 있는 장을 만들 예정이다.
시는 체험관으로 ▲쉐프체험코너 ▲김치담그기 ▲수제막걸리 만들기 ▲가족과 함께 케익만들기 등을 운영하고, 창원특산물 홍보ㆍ판매관, 창원대표음식 홍보관도 운영할 계획이다.
또 창원 대표 음식인 미더덕 비빔밥을 이용한 퍼포먼스 시연 및 시식회를 비롯, 전국 누구나 참여할 수 있는 요리 및 케이크 라이브 경연대회를 펼쳐 대상 수상자는 식품의약품안전처상을 수상할 예정이다.
김종필 복지여성보건국장은 “창원음식문화축제는 우리지역 음식문화의 다양성·우수성을 널리 알리고, 식품 관련 업체의 제품 판매·홍보로 코로나19로 침체된 지역경제 활성화에도 많은 도움이 될 것”이라며 “시민들에게 다양한 볼거리, 먹거리를 제공하고 창원의 특산물을 활용한 다양한 요리 참여로 진정한 축제의 한마당이 될 수 있도록 준비에 만전을 기하겠다”고 말했다.
