[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 박완수 경남도지사는 28일 도청 도정회의실에서 도내 시장.군수와 도 실국본부장이 참석한 가운데 ‘민선8기 제1회 경상남도 시장·군수 정책회의’를 주재했다.
이날 회의에서는 민선8기 경남의 도정 운영방향을 공유하고, 민생을 위한 지역경제 회복과 일자리 창출을 위해서는 투자유치가 핵심과제라는 데에 뜻을 같이하며 도와 시군이 전방위적으로 협력하기로 했다.
시장·군수가 건의한 지역별 현안에 대해서는 도와 시군이 함께 고민하고 문제를 풀어나가는 한편, 중앙정부 건의가 필요한 사안들은 도와 시군이 공동으로 대응해 나갈 것을 약속했다.
윤석열 정부의 지역정책과제인 차세대 한국형 원전산업 및 항공산업 육성과 관련해 소형모듈원전(SMR) 혁신제작기술 도입에 따른 공동대응과 서부경남 항공클러스터 구축, 항공우주청 조기 설치에 대한 논의가 있었고, 도와 시군이 함께 발 빠르게 대응하기로 했다.
주력산업의 고도화를 위한 나노융합산업 육성과 승강기산업 국책연구기관 유치 방안이 논의됐고, 남해안 국제관광단지 조성을 위한 장목 국제해양관광단지 조성과 통영항 타워브릿지 조성에 관한 의견도 교환했다.
또, 고부가가치 어업 육성을 위한 수산식품 클러스터 조성과 1시간 생활권 교통망 확충, 첨단물류 플랫폼 구축을 위한 진주 정촌~사천 축동간 도로 개설과 창녕 대합산단산업선 조기 건설도 함께 논의됐다.
이밖에 지자체와 교육청이 협업으로 추진하고 있는 교육협력사업과 관련해서는 재원 분담비율 조정이 필요하다는 의견도 나왔다. 지자체는 갈수록 재정여건이 나빠지고 있는 상황인데다 조례상의 기준을 넘어선 교육경비 보조로 인해 지역 현안사업 추진에 차질을 빚을 수 있다는 우려다.

박 도지사는 “교육청과는 달리 많은 지자체들이 재정 부족을 겪고 있으며, 중앙정치권과 도의회에서도 문제가 제기되고 있다.”며 “아이들 급식에는 좋은 식자재를 사용해야 하는데 식자재값 인상으로 걱정이 되고 있는 만큼, 재원 분담률 조정 등 다양한 방안을 도와 시군이 함께 고민하고 의논해나가자.”고 말했다.
또한 시군 건의사항에 대한 적극적 지원과 해법 모색을 약속하며 “중앙부처에서 추진하려는 사업들 중 우리 지역이 필요로 하는 사업들을 따내기 위해서는 도와 시군이 공동으로 계획을 만들어야 한다.”며 “국책 프로젝트 발굴과 국비 확보를 위해 큰 그림을 가지고 기획 단계부터 도?시군이 원팀이 되어 소통하고 협력해 나가야 한다.”고 밝혔다.
한편, 시장·군수 정책회의는 민선8기 도지사와 시장·군수가 공식적으로 다 함께 모인 첫 번째 자리로, 2019년 1월 이후로는 코로나19 등으로 개최되지 못했다.
