이날 방문한 파주시 산남동 338-2번지 일대는 2016년부터 10여 동의 단독주택과 근린생활시설이 허가된 개발압력이 높은 지역으로, 인근 개발행위허가지가 준공되면 마을도로 이용차량 대비 도로 폭이 협소해 주민의 불편을 야기할 것이라는 우려의 목소리가 있는 곳이다.

김경일 파주시장은 개발행위 담당 관계자로부터 산남동 일대 지역개발에 대해 보고받은 후 지역주민 및 파주시 인허가 담당 관계자들과 함께 현장을 점검했으며, 산남동뿐만 아니라 파주시 지역개발과 파주 비전의 조화에도 관심을 기울일 예정이다.
현장에서 주민불편사항을 청취한 김경일 파주시장은 “도로확보 노력에도 일부 구간의 폭이 부족할 경우 도시계획위원회 심의를 통해 개발행위허가로 발생되는 주민 불편 등을 신중하게 검토하겠다”고 전했다.
