김민지 민화 화가의 첫 개인전이 8월9일부터 12일까지 서울 운현궁 기획전시실(서울시 종로구 삼일대로 464번지)에서 열린다. 주제는 “화려하지 않더라도…”
김민지 화가는 전시회에 대해 “저에게 있어서 미술은 초등학교, 중학교 시절 배운 수업이 전부였지만, 어릴 때부터 손으로 하는 취미 생활에는 관심이 많았다. 그런 저는 식단을 짜고 음식을 제공하고 관리를 하는 영양사라는 직업을 가지게 되었다. 10년이 넘는 시간을 나에게는 영양사라는 직업에 세상에서 느낄 수 있는 여러 마음을 느끼며 생활하고 있었다.”고 설명하고 “2020년 전 세계에 많은 변화를 불어 일으켜 버린 코로나 팬데믹으로 저의 삶에도 변화가 일어났다. 팬데믹으로 인한 외부활동의 제한으로 인해 혼자 할 수 있는 무언가를 찾다가 저는 자연스럽게 붓으로 글씨를 쓰는 캘리그래피에 다가가게 되었고 붓의 매력에 흠뻑 젖어 들게 되었다. 하얀 한지에 붓으로 써 내려가는 훈민정음이 너무 매력적이었고 붓끝에서 살아나는 그 무언가가 저를 감동시켰다. 캘리그래피를 수료하고 한지와 붓의 느낌을 더 알고자 할 때 민화를 알게 되었고, 한국의 혼과 얼이 담긴 민화를 조금 더 공부하고 싶었다. 민화를 그리는 시간은 그야말로 블랙홀이었다. 분채 가는 소리, 정성들일수록 빛나는 분채, 한지 위에 붓끝에서 살아 나오는 오묘하고 신비로운 색깔, 하루하루 마르면서 더욱 선명하고 깊어지는 색 등 그 모든 것이 제가 민화에서 헤어 나올 수 없게 만들었다”고 소개했다.

About the exhibition, artist Minji Kim said, “For me, art was all I learned in elementary school and middle school, but I have been interested in hobbies with my hands since I was young. Then, I got a job as a nutritionist who plans, provides, and manages food. For more than 10 years, I have been living as a nutritionist with many feelings that can be felt in the world.” He explained, “In 2020, the corona pandemic that has caused many changes around the world has changed my life. woke up. I was looking for something I could do on my own due to the restrictions on outside activities due to the pandemic, but I naturally came to calligraphy, which was written with a brush, and I was immersed in the charm of the brush. Hunminjeongeum written on white Korean paper with a brush was very attractive, and something that came to life from the tip of the brush moved me. After graduating from calligraphy, I came to know folk tales when I wanted to know more about the feeling of hanji and brushes, and I wanted to study folk tales with the soul and spirit of Korea a little more. The time to draw folktales was truly a black hole.
