브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 신세계그룹은 수도권 집중호우로 인한 지역사회의 피해 복구를 위해 성금 5억원을 지원한다고 12일 밝혔다.
이번 성금은 희망브리지 전국재해구호협회에 기탁하며, 수해 지역의 복구 및 이재민 지원 등에 사용할 예정이다.
성금 기탁과 함께 구호 물품 지원에도 나선다. 이마트, 이마트24 등은 수해 피해로 지원이 필요한 곳에 지자체와 구호협회를 통해 생필품과 간식류를 지원한다.
신세계그룹은 이마트24를 통해 지난 9일과 11일 선제적으로 폭우 피해를 입은 지자체에 구호물품을 지원했다. 생수, 음료, 컵라면 등 총 1000여명분의 1만4000여 개 구호물품을 급히 지원했으며 향후 도움이 필요한 곳에 지속 지원할 계획이다.
이마트는 서울사회복지협의회를 통해 서울지역 수해피해지역 주민 1000여세대에 즉석밥, 컵라면, 생수 등 생필품을 지원한다. 서초구, 영등포구를 시작으로 생필품 전달을 시작하며 지원 지역을 늘려갈 예정이다.
신세계그룹 관계자는 “수해 지역에 작게나마 힘을 보태고자 복구 성금과 생필품 지원을 결정했다”며 “이재민들과 지역사회의 피해가 조속히 복구되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
