경남형 법학전문대학원의 필요성과 설립 방향 찾아

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경상남도와 경남연구원은 ‘경남형 법학전문대학원의 필요성과 설립 방향’을 주제로 한 ‘제35회 미래발전 콜로키움’을 개최했다.

이번 ‘콜로키움’은 경남연구원 4층 남명실에서 진행됐으며 경남도 및 창원시·진주시 관계자, 경상대·창원대·영산대 관계자 등 30여명이 참석했다.

이날 주제발표에는 이장희 창원대학교 법학과 교수가 ‘경남형 법학전문대학원의 필요성과 설립 방향’을 주제로 경남에 법학전문대학원의 부재 상황에서 발생하는 경남의 사법서비스 약화 및 지역발전의 지속성과 국가 균형발전 측면에서의 문제점을 지적했다.

특히 경남형 법학전문대학원은 제조업, 방위산업, 에너지산업 등 경남이 강점인 산업에서 발전된 미래 신산업 분야에 대해 전문성을 키운 ‘산업법 전문 법조인’ 양성을 제안했다.

오종수 경남도 교육담당관은 “경남도에서는 경남형 법학전문대학원의 실현 가능성과 발전방안에 대한 논의를 시작으로 민간협의체 구성, 경남형 법학전문대학원의 방향, 유관기관 업무 협의 등 법학전문대학원 설치를 위해 노력중”이라고 밝혔다.
