과천시립교향악단이 지난 10월 21일 저녁 과천시민회관 대극장에서 제67회 정기연주회를 개최했다. 지휘는 2005년 지휘자 정명훈에 의해 ‘5인의 젊은 지휘자’ 중 한 사람으로 선정된 바 있는 김예훈 과천시립교향악단 부지휘자가 맡았다.
과천시립교향악단은 이번 공연에서 ‘베토벤 & 브람스, 새로운 길’을 주제로 음악사의 위대한 두 거장의 곡을 통해 지난 2년여 동안의 팬데믹 시대를 벗어나 우리가 함께 가야할 새로운 희망의 길을 다양한 색채의 관현악으로 보여줬다.
공연은 국내 최정상 피아니스트 이진상 한국예술종합학교 교수가 베토벤의 피아노 협주곡 제3번을 연주하는 것으로 시작돼 브람스의 교향곡 제2번으로 대미를 장식했다.
교향곡 2번은 브람스의 전원교향곡이라고 일컬어지는 작품으로 눈부시게 아름다운 자연에 대한 사색, 삶에 대한 기쁨과 사랑이 작품 안에 오롯이 담겨 있다.
김예훈 과천시립교향악단 부지휘자는 “뉴노멀시대가 열리고 계절의 감성이 짙어가는 계절, 불멸의 두 거장 베토벤과 브람스의 걸출한 작품을 일류 솔리스트와 과천시립교향악단의 협연으로 선보일 수 있게 돼 기쁘다”며, “이번 연주회를 통해 많은 분이 어둠과 절망의 긴 터널을 벗어나 승리와 환희의 길을 찾는 감동을 느껴보시길 바란다”라고 말했다.
