브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 새마을금고가 청년세대를 위한 적극적인 사회공헌활동을 펼치고 있다.
2018년 시작해 5년째 진행 중인 청년 취업캠프 ‘내일을 잡(JOB)아라’ 사업이 대표적이다. 만 19세 이상 39세 이하 취업준비생을 대상으로 진행되며, 취업역량 강화를 위한 교육비 전액을 새마을금고중앙회가 지원하는 사업으로 청년층의 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
이달 23일부터 24일까지 이틀간 실시된 이번 5기 사업은 지난해 보다 정원이 2배 확대돼 200명의 청년을 대상으로 진행됐다. △최신 채용 및 경제 트렌드 분석 △자기소개서 작성방법 △유형별 면접 대응전략 △이미지메이킹 등 이론 강의는 물론, △유형별 모의면접, △일대일 자기소개서 클리닉 등 실전 대비교육과 더불어 청년들의 마음건강을 돌보는 취업 심리상담도 진행될 예정이다.
청년주거 안정을 위한 ‘MG희망나눔 청년 주거장학사업 내집(Home)잡(Job)기’ 사업도 올해 5년째를 맞았다. 새마을금고중앙회에서 출연한 MG새마을금고 지역희망나눔재단에서 진행되는 본 사업은 100명의 청년을 선정해 6개월간의 주거비(총 150만원 이내)와 함께 자원봉사활동, 경제교육 등을 지원하고 있다. 특히, 내집(Home)잡(Job)사업으로 안정적 주거기반을 확보한 청년들이 취업 성공, 공무원 합격 소식을 전하는 등 참가자들이 높은 만족도를 보이고 있다.
전국 새마을금고에서는 매년 지역의 배려계층 학생들을 지원하기 위한 장학사업을 꾸준하게 진행하고 있다. 작년 한 해 총 8632명의 청소년 및 790개의 재단을 통해 72억원 상당의 장학금이 전달됐다. 또한, 새마을금고 직원이 직접 강사가 돼 사회진출을 앞둔 청소년을 대상으로 필수 금융상식과 금융사고 피해예방법, 신용관리의 중요성 등을 지속적으로 교육하고 있다.
이 외에도 새마을금고는 청년 창업가를 대상으로 사회적경제 창업캠프를 개최해 우수한 아이디어를 실질적인 사업으로 실현될 수 있도록 지원하고 있다. 아동청소년 그룹홈 주거환경 개선 사업인 MG드림하우스, 배려계층 아동청소년의 보험가입 지원사업 등을 통해 대한민국을 이끌어 나갈 미래세대와 청년을 위해 다양한 분야에서 지원을 아끼지 않고 있다.
박차훈 새마을금고중앙회장은 “청년들이 겪는 어려움을 세심히 살펴 적극적으로 지원해 나갈 것”이라며 “청년들의 꿈을 새마을금고가 응원할 것이다”고 전했다.
