한글사랑도시 세종을 표방하고 있는 세종시가 주요 도시 진입 관문에 한글로 새단장을 추진한다.
이를 위해 세종시는 도시 주요 진입부 10곳에 경관개선을 추진 중에있고, 도시 정체성이 담긴 디자인 선정을 위해 시민들의 의견을 받는다고 밝혔다.
세종시가 시민을 대상으로 실시하는 이번 선호도 조사는 진입부 10곳 중 6곳에 한해 세종대왕의 위대한 유산인 ‘한글’을 형상화한 디자인을 적용해 통일성 있는 진입관문을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
세종시는 11월 25일부터 오는 12월 9일까지 2주간 시민들을 대상으로 ‘세종시 진입부 경관 개선 디자인 선호도 조사’를 실시한다.
이번 조사에서 세종시는 ‘글자형 조형물’, ‘시 경계 표지판’ 등 디자인 3가지안에 대해 시민 선호도를 조사한다.
세종시는 진입관문 경관개선을 통해 세종시만의 도시 정체성을 알려 ‘한글사랑도시 세종’ 구현을 앞당길 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
한편 세종시는 이번 선호도 조사를 위해 지난 4월부터 충남 공주시·대전시·충북 청주시·충남 천안시 경계부 등 주요 진입도로 10곳에 정체성 있는 경관을 조성하고자 진입관문 종합계획 수립용역을 추진해왔다고 밝혔다.
