경기도교육청(교육감 임태희)이 2023년 본예산 확정에 따라 61개 학교 대상으로 2023년 고교학점제 학교 공간조성사업에 768억 원을 편성·추진한다.
경기도교육청은 지난 8월 사전 신청을 받아 61개 고등학교를 선정했다. 해당 학교들은 고교학점제 교육과정 운영을 위한 절대공간 부족으로 이번 사업에 큰 기대를 하고 있다.
고교학점제 학교 공간조성사업은 학생 선택중심 교육과정 운영에 적합한 교과교실 기반의 공간 구성과 개방형 공용공간.홈베이스 조성을 지원하는 사업. 2022년에는 공간 재구조화(리모델링) 사업에 초점을 맞춰 진행했지만, 2023년에는 지난해와 달리 증축 사업을 포함해 추진한다.
사업은 내년 3월 학생, 교사, 학부모 등 교육공동체가 주도하는 사용자 참여 설계를 시작으로 본격 추진한다. 경기도교육청은 사업을 원활하게 추진할 수 있도록 건축교육전문가, 건축사 등 56명의 공간기획가 인력풀을 통해 사용자 참여 설계 제반 과정을 전문적으로 지원할 예정이다.
경기도교육청 최길남 미래학교기획과장은 “2025년 고교학점제 전면 시행 전에 모든 고등학교에서 고교학점제 공간조성사업을 완료할 수 있도록 교육지원청 및 학교 담당자 연수, 대상교 컨설팅을 지원하는 등 사업 추진에 만전을 기하겠다”고 말했다.
