[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 진양호동물원 이전과 관련해 판문동 일원 지역주민을 대상으로 우선 설명회를 개최하고 의견을 청취했다고 15일밝혔다.
이번 주민설명회는 14일 오전 10시께 판문동 행정복지센터 2층 대회의실에서 진양호동물원 이전의 필요성과 설문조사 내용, 타당성 검토 결과를 설명했다.
또 설명회에서 이전 대상지, 조성 방향, 공간배치, 주변 시설과의 조화를 통한 동물원 특성화 계획 등에 대한 설명과 의견을 청취하는 순서로 진행됐다.
현재 진양호동물원은 진양호 후문 상락원 일원 산자락 계곡부로 이전을 계획 중이며 부지보상을 마무리하고 관련 행정 절차와 기본계획 수립 용역을 진행하고 있다.
진주시 관계자는 “판문동 주민들의 요청 시 추가 설명회를 개최와 일반 시민을 대상으로 공청회도 개최할 예정이다”며“사업이 원만하게 추진될 수 있도록 많은 관심과 의견 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
