(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 17일 올해 한국문학번역사업으로 ‘Messages, 부천에서 날아온 메시지’를 출간했다고 밝혔다.
부천시에 따르면, 시는 영미권 중심의 문학계에 한국 문학의 우수성을 알리기 위해 국내 문학작품을 선정·번역해 유네스코 문학창의도시 네트워크에 소개하고 있는 가운데 올해는 부천 문인 작품 중 단편 소설 2편, 시 3편을 선정 출간해 창의도시 네트워크 및 국내외 독자들에게 선보인다.
지난 2020년 부천 문인 3선 ‘Closer to Love: 멈출 수 없는 슬픔은 사랑이어라’를 출간한 데 이어 2021년에는 제1회 디아스포라문학상을 기념해 디아스포라 주제를 가진 단편 2선 ‘The Long Trip Home : 집으로 가는 여정’을 출간했다.
이번 작품집에는 박주호 <게임의 법칙(단편)>, 최희영 <14일(단편)>, 이천명 <원미산의 가을(시)>, 박미현 <가을 원미산(시)>, 양정동 <바다가 그리운 저녁(시)> 국·영문 작품 5편이 수록돼 있다.
부천시는 이번 작품집을 한국에 주재하고 있는 각국의 대사관과 국제기구, 유네스코(UNESCO) 창의도시 네트워크, 한국문화원, 재외공관, 유네스코사무국 등에 무상으로 배포할 계획이며 아울러, 유네스코 문학창의도시 부천 영문 홈페이지에 이-북(E-BOOK)으로도 본 작품집을 내려받아 볼 수 있다.

Bucheon City announced on the 17th that it had published “Messages, messages from Bucheon” as part of this year’s Korean Literature Translation Project.
According to Bucheon City, the city selects and translates domestic literary works and introduces them to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in order to promote the excellence of Korean literature to the literary world centered on the British and American countries. will be selected and published and presented to the Creative City Network and domestic and international readers.
In 2020, following the publication of 'Closer to Love: Unstoppable Sorrow Is Love', the third Bucheon writer, in 2021, in commemoration of the 1st Diaspora Literary Award, two short films with a diaspora theme, 'The Long Trip Home: Journey to the Road' was published.
This collection includes Park Joo-ho <The Rules of the Game (Short)>, Choi Hee-Young <14 Days (Short)>, Lee Chun-myeong <Autumn at Mt. )> Five Korean and English works are included.
