부천시에 따르면, 시는 세계적인 관심을 끌어 모으며 새로운 고부가가치 영역으로 주목받고 있는 K-콘텐츠에 착안해 지난 2020년부터 콘텐츠의 근간인 스토리를 산업으로 키우기 위한 준비에 힘을 쏟고 있다.
지난 1990년대부터 만화·영화·애니메이션 등 다양한 분야에서 키워온 문화콘텐츠를 미래의 부천을 먹여 살릴 ‘부천형 스토리 산업’으로 도약시킨다는 계획이다.
