의왕시는 3월 1일부터 문화관광해설사 6명을 왕송호수공원 등 시의 주요 관광지에 배치, 관광해설 서비스를 제공한다고 2월 27일 밝혔다.
문화관광해설사는 역사·문화·예술·자연 등 전반적인 관광자원에 대한 전문적인 정보를 관광객의 눈높이에 맞춰 설명하고 이해를 돕는 역할을 한다.
문화관광해설사 운영으로 의왕시를 찾는 방문객은 왕송호수공원과 조류생태과학관에서 별도의 예약 절차 없이 무료로 자연생태 분야의 해설을 들을 수 있게 된다. 다만 왕송호수의 경우 주차료, 조류생태과학관의 경우 입장료는 유료이다.
의왕시는 해설사와 함께 문화유적지 곳곳을 걸으며 지역의 역사와 문화를 탐방할 수 있는 △왕림마을코스(청평사, 김우증 신도비, 김우증 묘역) △임영대군 묘역 코스(임영대군 묘역, 사당, 제안부부인 최씨 묘역) △하우현 성당 코스(한덕운 토마스 상, 사제관, 성당 내부, 성모동산) 등의 도보여행 프로그램도 함께 운영한다.
이영희 문화관광과장은 “의왕시를 방문하는 관광객들이 문화관광해설을 통해 의왕시의 매력을 느끼는 즐거운 여행이 되길 바라며, 다시 방문하고 싶은 도시로 기억할 수 있도록 관광 활성화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
도보여행 해설예약은 관광하기 일주일 전까지 문화관광해설사 통합예약시스템(www.kctg.or.kr)에서 신청하거나, 의왕시 문화관광과에 전화(031-345-2549)로 신청하면 무료로 해설 서비스를 받을 수 있다.
