[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 벼 재배면적 감축을 위해 ‘논 타작물 재배지원사업’을 추진한다고 28일 밝혔다.
논 타작물 재배지원사업은 벼 재배농지에 타작물을 재배하면 보조금을 지원하는 사업으로 오는 6월 23일까지 농지소재지 읍·면사무소 및 동 행정복지센터에서 신청을 받는다.
이번 지원사업은 쌀 소비량 감소와 가격 하락에 따른 쌀값 안정을 위해 진행되며 정부의 쌀 재배면적 감축 목표는 3만7000ha, 진주시의 감축 목표 면적은 201ha이다.
이번 지원 대상농지는 지난 2022년도에 벼를 재배한 농지에 2023년도 타작물을 재배하는 신규농지, 지난 2022년도 벼에서 타작물로 신규전환 후 2023년도에 계속 타작물을 재배하는 농지다.
대상품목은 일반작물, 두류, 풋거름작물(옥수수, 호밀, 해바라기, 수수 등), 하계조사료(수단그라스, 자운영, 청예보리 등)이며 휴경 시에도 신청할 수 있다.
지원금은 작물과 휴경 구분 없이 ha당 100만원이며, 하계조사료의 경우 지난 2022년도에 하계조사료를 재배해 보조금 수혜를 본 농가가 2023년에도 하계조사료를 심을 경우 ha당 430만원을 지원한다.
진주시 관계자는 “쌀값 안정을 위해 벼 재배면적 감축에 농업인과 쌀생산단체가 적극적으로 참여해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
