[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 우주경제 시대와 미래항공교통 등 미래 항공시장의 본격화에 대비하기 위해 우주항공분야 의제를 선도하고 정책방향 및 활성화 방안을 모색하고자 정책포럼을 마련했다.
박완수 지사는 21일 사천 KB 인재니움에서 ‘우주항공 정책포럼’ 창립포럼에 참석해 우주항공산업을 경남의 미래성장동력으로 만들기 위한 포부를 다시 한번 나타냈다.
이날 창립포럼에는 박동식 사천시장, 우주항공분야 전문가와 기업체, 일반시민 등 250여 명이 참석했다.
박완수 도지사는 “대한민국 우주항공산업의 중심지인 경남이 전세계적으로 우주항공 비전의 중심지가 되기 위해 포럼을 시작하게 됐다”며 “우주경제의 새로운 비전을 열어가는 세계적인 포럼으로 자리매김 할 수 있도록 지원과 성원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
특히 “사천에 임시청사를 마련하는 등 우주항공복합도시로 조성할 계획을 정부와 협력해서 차질 없도록 준비하겠다”며 “우주항공청에 근무하게 되는 전문가들이 불편함이 없도록 정주여건과 문화, 교육 인프라 조성에도 함께 힘을 모아 노력해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.

포럼은 ‘우주시대! 우주항공 정책과 산업 발전방향’을 주제로 기조연설과 전문가의 주제발표, 토론 및 질의응답 순으로 진행됐다.
기조연설에서는 우주경제 시대 민·관·군의 역할 분담에 대한 필요성과 민간의 우주산업 창출, 우주 전문인력 양성의 필요성을 강조하는 한편, 우주경제 시대에 나아가야 할 방향을 제시했다.
이어 조황희 국가우주정책연구센터장이 ‘우주항공청과 함께하는 경남우주클러스터’를, 황진영 한국항공우주연구원 책임연구원이 ‘대한민국 미래 우주경제 로드맵과 의미’를 주제로 발표를 실시했다. 이후에는 ‘우주항공청 설립과 과제’와 ‘우주시대, 산업과 지역의 정책’에 대해 토론을 실시하며 다양한 의견을 공유했다.
‘우주항공 정책포럼’에는 전국의 우주항공분야 산·학·연·관 전문가 50여 명이 참여하고 있으며, 앞으로도 전문가를 폭넓게 참여시켜 우주항공분야의 국내 대표 포럼으로 만들어 나가기로 했다.
경남도는 사천시와 함께 우주항공청 연내 개청을 위해 임시청사를 준비 중에 있으며, 전문가들이 지역에 안착할 수 있도록 주거와 교육, 교통 등 정주여건 개선을 포함한 우주항공복합도시를 조성한다.
