세종시의회가 세종가든쇼 및 국제정원도시박람회 개최 성공과 지속 가능성을 확보하기 위해 2일 선진지 견학에 나섰다.
세종시의회 산업건설위원회와 의회운영위원회는 2일 순천만국가정원 등 일원을 현장 방문했다.
이날 산업건설위원회와 의회운영위원회 소속 위원들은 순천만국제정원박람회 현장에서 순천시의회 오행숙·김태훈 의원과 상호 교류를 위한 간담회를 가진 후, 순천만국제정원박람회측 정원해설사의 동행으로 현장을 둘러보았다.
현재 세종시는 세종중앙공원 등 정원 인프라를 기반으로 2023년에는 세종가든쇼 개최를, 2025년에는 국제정원도시박람회 개최를 추진 중이다. 이번 현장 방문은 이와 같은 행사 개최의 필요성, 행사 구성 내용 검토 등 의정활동에 참고하기 위한 일환으로 추진됐다.
참석자들은 구역별 정원 조성 현황, 편의시설 설치 현황에 대해 직접 보고 파악했으며, 박람회 준비 과정부터 운영 현황 등에 관해 설명을 듣고 다양한 의견을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
