국가철도공단, 충북지역 철도 인프라 구축 나선다

충북지역내 교통편익 증진을 위한 업무협약이 9일 있었다.

국가철도공단와 충북도는 이날 도청에서 철도 인프라 구축 및 철도 유휴부지 활용을 위한 협약식을 갖고 협력에 나섰다.

협약을 통해 두 기관은 ▲ 철도 이용 편의 증대 및 철도 인프라 구축 ▲ 철도 역세권과 유휴부지 개발 ▲ 철도정책과 기술 등 철도산업 발전을 위한 정보교류 ▲ 오송 철도클러스터 구축 및 철도산업 육성 등에 나선다.

현재 공단은 충북 지역의 교통편의를 증진하고 지역발전을 위하여 천안∼청주공항 복선전철 및 평택∼오송 2복선화 사업을 추진 중이다

충북 청주시 오송읍에 위치한 공단 시설장비사무소에 인공지능(AI), 빅데이터 등의 기술을 활용하여 열차 운행을 제어하는 스마트철도관제시스템인 ‘제2철도교통관제센터 구축사업’을 올해 착공해 ‘26년 12월까지 완공할 계획이다. 또, 오송역 하부 공간의 활용방안을 충청북도와 협의 중에 있다.

국가철도공단 김한영 이사장은 “충청북도와 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축하여 각종 철도 인프라 구축과 유휴부지 활용 등을 통해 지역경제 활성화와 철도산업 발전에 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.
