중국 내몽골 자치구 태생 가수 다이칭 타나의 노래 '고요한 하늘'은 동방의 영혼을 품은 목소리라는 찬사를 받을 만큼 청정한 음색이 빚어내는 감성의 노래다. 가수가 함께하는 HAYA밴드는 몽골인을 바탕으로 다양한 국적의 아티스트로 구성된 전통과 현대를 아우른 음악으로 인정받고 있다.
가수 다이칭 타나의 노래 고요한 하늘의 바탕이 투바족 민요인 사실에서 한 명의 가창자가 저음과 고음을 동시에 부르는 몽골족 특유의 가창 기법 후미(Hoomi)로 잘 알려진 투바 훈후르투 민속 밴드가 살펴진다. 몽골어로 인후를 사용한다는 뜻인 후밀레흐에서 기원한 지상에서 유일한 배음 공명 기법이다.
독립국 몽골은 현재 러시아어 문자인 키릴 문자를 쓰지만, 중국 내몽골 자치구에서는 옛 몽고문자를 여전히 사용하고 있다. 몽고문자 역사는 곧 세계사이다.
서기 950년경 칭기즈칸이 정복의 땅 소그드 문자를 가져와 만든 문자가 몽고문자이다. 소그드(Sogd)는 스키타이로도 부르는 이란계 고대 나라로 우리나라와 깊은 인연이 있다.
신라 문장가 최치원이 신라 시대 탈춤 오기(五伎)를 소재로 지은 한시 집 향악잡영의 다섯 시 중 하나로 기록한 속독(束毒)이 바로 소그드인을 말한다. 서기 300년 무렵 탄생한 소그드 문자는 시리아 문자를 바탕으로 만들어진 문자이며 시리아 문자는 고대 아람문자를 바탕으로 탄생한 문자였다.
중요한 사실은 칭기즈칸이 가져온 소그드 문자를 바탕으로 위구르문자와 몽고문자가 탄생하였다. 여기서 그치지 않았다. 여진족 누르하치가 1599년 몽고문자를 바탕으로 만주 문자를 만들어 사용하면서 1616년 청나라를 건설하였다.
덧붙여 이러한 역사의 바탕 소그드 즉 속독은 우리나라 고구려 시대에 유행한 가면춤이다. 이 춤과 음악이 일본에 고려악 고마가쿠로 건너가 일본 전통음악의 양대 산맥인 도가쿠(唐樂)와 가가쿠(雅樂) 중 가가쿠의 신소우도쿠(進走禿)이다. 역사가 그렇다.
이야기가 길어진 이유는 이 노래가 러시아 연방 투바공화국의 뿌리인 투바족 민요라는 사실이다. 투바공화국은 시베리아 바이칼 호수 남부에 위치한 나라이다. 고구려 평강공주와 결혼한 바보 온달의 고향으로 추정하는 곳이다. 투바 동쪽에 접경한 부랴트 공화국과 함께 우리의 고대 역사에 깊은 연관성을 가지고 있는 나라이다.
고요한 하늘(寂静的天空) 가사 문제
내몽고(内蒙古) 태생의 가수 다이칭 타나가 2009년 5월 발표한 2집 타이틀곡 고요한 하늘(寂静的天空)의 가사 문제는 몽골어 가사 1절을 중국어 병음으로 부르고 2절을 중국어로 부른 가사에서 혼란이 많다.
본 영상은 2011년 초 베이징의 유명 공연장 텐차오쥐창(天桥剧场)에서 열렸던 신년 음악회 라이브 영상이다.
노래 발표 당시 주요 방송사에서 가사대의(歌詞大意) 라는 자막과 함께 중국어로 번역된 가사를 소개하였다. 이는 몽골어 노래의 주요한 뜻을 헤아려 번역되었음을 말한다. 당시 첫 부분 다음과 같은 (我在远方思念你-멀리서 그대를 그리워합니다)와 (在共同的日月下寻找你-같은 해와 달 아래서 그대를 찾습니다) 2줄 가사가 누락한 것인지 처음부터 존재하지 않은 가사인지가 명확하지 않다.
고요한 하늘(寂静的天空)은 앞편의 글에서 소개하였듯이 투바의 가수 세인코 남실락이 발표한 후미 가창 기법의 노래 다글라림-나의 산(Daglarym-My Mountains)을 바탕으로 내몽고 가수 다이칭 타나가 새롭게 작사하여 발표한 노래였다.
주요한 사실은 현재 내몽고 자치구 몽골인과 외몽골(본토)인의 언어 소통은 억양의 차이 이외에 문제가 없다. 그러나 외몽골(본토)에서는 1946년부터 러시아어 키릴문자를 차용한 문자를 공식 사용하고 있다. 이와 달리 내몽고 자치구에서는 전통 위구르 몽골문자를 고수하고 있다. 이는 같은 언어의 문자가 달라 소통되지 않는 상황을 말한다.
