세종시가 대평동 일원에 대용량 수소충전소를 구축해 수소차량 이용자들의 편의 제공을 통해 수소차량 활성화에 나선다.
이를 위해 세종시는 22일 대평동 압축천연가스(CNG)충전소 인근 부지(대평동 586-25)에서 수소충전소 구축을 위한 착공식을 개최했다.
민간과 협업으로 건립하는 수소충전소는 미세먼지 저감효과가 큰 수소차 보급기반과 수소산업 육성을 위해 마련됐다.
이날 착공식을 개최한 수소충전소는 연면적 1,500㎡ 규모에 정부 42억 원, 민간사업자(코하이젠) 38억 원, 세종시 13.5억 원(부지매입) 등 총사업비 93.5억 원이 투입된다.
특히, 300㎏/h 충전용량을 갖추고 있어 시간당 15㎏ 기준 수소버스 15대를 충전할 수 있는 규모로 구축하는데 이는 충전용량 25㎏/h를 갖춘 기존의 대평동과 어진동 수소충전소에 대비해 충전용량이 12배 가량 큰 규모다.
세종시는 올 연말까지 수소버스 45대를 도입할 예정으로, 앞으로 수소상용차 보급이 더욱 활성화될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
한편 이날 착공식에는 고기동 세종시 행정부시장, 이순열 세종시의회산업건설위원회 위원장, 조희송 금강유역환경청장을 비롯해 시행사인 코하이젠의 이경실 대표이사 등 주요 내·외빈이 참석했다.
