‘철도와 지방 발전을 위한 정책세미나’ 가 12일 열렸다.
국가철도공단은 이날 본사에서 11개 시·도연구원과 연구협력체 구축을 위해 세미나를 갖고 정책발굴에 나섰다.
참석한 11개 기관은 강원연구원, 경기연구원, 경남연구원, 대구정책연구원, 대전세종연구원, 서울연구원, 울산연구원, 인천연구원, 전북연구원, 충남연구원, 충북연구원 등이다.
세미나는 연구협의체 운영방안에 대한 설명과 기조강연, 토론 순서 등으로 진행됐으며 ' ‘지방 시대를 위한 철도 역세권 개발 전략’이라는 주제로 기조강연이 있었다.
기조 강연에서 국토연구원 서민호 박사는 "역세권개발 등 복합개발 추진 시 정부, 철도공단, 지자체 등 이해관계자들의 유기적인 업무추진 체계를 구축하는 것이 중요하다"고 강조했다.
철도공단은 이번 세미나를 통해 시도연구원과의 협력 활동의 일환으로 ‘철도와 지방발전 연구포럼’의 발족을 제안했다.
향후 포럼에서 각 지방의 전문가들과 함께 ▲ 지역 균형발전을 위한 철도 개선방안 ▲ 탄소중립 이행과 녹색성장 추진방안 등 지방 발전에 도움이 되는 다양한 철도정책을 발굴할 수 있을 것"으로 공단은 기대했다.
국가철도공단 김한영 이사장은 “ 전문가들과 함께 철도가 나아가야 할 방향을 원점에서 다시 바라보고, 촘촘한 철도망을 구축해 지방 구석구석 교통이 편리한곳으로 만드는 데에 앞장서겠다.”고 말했다.
